ADU’S IN DENVER
What are ADUs? What would this rezoning do?
“ADU” stands for Accessory Dwelling Unit. ADU’s are also commonly known as granny-flats, in-law units, casitas, carriage houses or guest houses. Over the past few years, there has been a lot of interest in building ADUs in the West Highland neighborhood. As a result, Councilwoman Amanda Sandoval is looking to lead a rezoning on behalf of the community to allow ASU’s throughout the West Highland Neighborhood. This would save residents time and money.
IMPORTANT: The only change this rezoning would cause would be to allow ADUs on properties. It would NOT change anything else about how much, how high, or what types of other buildings can be built. For example, it will NOT allow duplexes, row homes or townhomes (slot homes), or commercial development.
